Amber Owen was born in 1989 in Madisonville, Kentucky. She came to the Hozhoni Foundation in 2010. She is currently the newest member of the art program. It was immediately apparent that Amber has unusual and original drawing skills. Her orientation is towards an abstract format exhibiting highly charged rhythmic qualities of line and shape. Her compositions evoke a special kind of movement that seems steeped in shamanistic expression. Because Amber rarely talks about her art, one can only guess at the purposes behind it. It is probable that her art is simply an expression of her unique nature of consciousness. She is perhaps the art program’s kindest and gentlest member.
