Jeremy Mireau was born in 1967 on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation in Whiteriver, Arizona. He has been living and participating in the Hozhoni Foundation in Flagstaff since he was nine years old. Jeremy is a keen observer of his environment, and the patterns of nature have a strong influence on his work. His Apache cultural heritage also plays a big role in his mixed-media, which depicts people, animals and urban environments. Just about anything in Jeremy’s world can end up as a part of his images. His art can seem both childlike and beyond his years in the same stroke. Jeremy’s animals and people appear equally comic, iconic and magical. His art has been featured in local advertising as well as on t-shirts, banners and posters for various events and organizations around Northern Arizona since the late 1990s.
