Kathleen McCumber

Kathy was born in 1960 in Ohio. She lived in Phoenix, Arizona before moving to Flagstaff in August 2000. In 2001, Kathy began to attend the Hozhoni Day Program, where she became an active participant in the Art Program. Although legally blind, Kathy uses a variety of mediums to express herself, including clay, colored pencils, markers, ink, watercolor and acrylic. Most of her work is now done “by feel” or memory, and reflects her dynamic personality, history and perceptions. Kathy’s signature work involves cryptic compositions of “circles” that mimic the rhythm of music and language.
