August is a huge month for Hozhoni!
We are involved in 3 separate events: The 2016 Brandy’s Exhibition, the 19th Annual Open Studios, and the Road Ahead Traveling Show.
Brandy’s restaurant has always been a huge supporter of the Hozhoni Art Program since the very beginning. And now, almost 20 years later, we are still shown a big welcome from them. This year, the Artists Coalition of Flagstaff designated the theme as Magic, Majesty, and Mystery. The exhibition runs from July 22 to September 5, 2016 at Brandy’s Restaurant at 1500 E Cedar Ave in Flagstaff, Arizona.
After a bit of an absence, we are returning to participate in Open Studios. The last weekend of August we will have our studio open with some of the artists present to show their work space and even show you their process. Our open studios location is at our gallery location, at 2133 N Walgreen St in Flagstaff, Arizona.
The Road Ahead celebrates the highly original work created by adult artists with developmental disabilities. Four venues in the United States that serve adults with development disabilities with art programs have partnered to develop this unique traveling exhibition. This includes Flagstaff’s own Hozhoni Foundation.
The exhibition will open with a Members’ Preview Reception on Saturday, August 20, 2016, 6-8pm. The following weekend will be the Public Opening Reception on Saturday, August 27, 6–8pm. There will be live music, hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. The participating artists from Flagstaff will be in attendance.
The venue, Coconino Center for the Arts, is located at 2300 N Fort Valley Road in Flagstaff, Arizona.
We hope to see you at least one of these events! Happy summer!
