Lorraine Attakai was born in Winslow, Arizona and moved to Flagstaff later in life to attend the Art Program at Hozhoni. She was taught weaving by her grandmother at a young age, and continues to practice this art. In addition to weaving, Lorraine works with illustration, various textiles, ceramics, watercolor and has recently picked up print making. Her inspiration comes from her family, nature and those surrounding her. Often you will see repeating patterns or people in her work that give a playful context to her pieces.
